ISSUES (The Problems)
#1 concern is safety. Have numerous band saws and opportunities for accidents. Required to process up to 6000 lbs/hr dunnage trays, HDPE sheet (5' x 8'). purgings, other plastic scrap ("routed window frames") from manufacturing process. Presently have a granulator.

SOLUTION
Propose a complete system approach to process plastic scrap materials. Primary grinder/shredder will be a 125 HP low speed unit with a large infeed opening (62" x 90"), an auxiliary 60" wide infeed conveyor, 9' horizontal discharge conveyor with magnetic head pulley, granulator infeed conveyor with ferrous/non-ferrous metal detector, all installed prior to the existing granulator. Installation designed to accommodate "dump and run" forklift loading. Completely eliminate dangerous band saws.

ACTION
Buyer purchased recommended low speed, high torque, low HP (125) grinder/shredder, and auxiliary material handling equipment with metal cleaning and detection systems. Complete system, as proposed, included installation and project supervision. Client required test whereby large piece of hardened aluminum was "thrown" into grinder/shredder to check metal protection shut down device.

RESULTS
After installing the complete size reduction system, customer eliminated the band-saws. That step lowered their Workman's Compensation premium substantially. In addition, labor requires to process waste materials was reduces to one person operating a forklift for most reject materials.
